“Scientist Call for Water Conservation”
This article basically talks about the how the way water has been managed for the past fifty years is not going to be acceptable and efficient in the future. The article goes into the fact that one-third of the world’s population faces a water shortage. In a meeting with over 700 scientists from over 140 countries this issue was discuss saying that “radical changes” need to be made with those institutes and organizations in charge of managing the Earth’s water supply. No solution was determined at the meeting but with the issue on the table, possible solutions should be soon to follow.
My reaction to this is that there have been talks about water conservation and water management for years, but all of a sudden it’s become serious matter. In all seriousness water conservative is an issue that faces the whole world. There are many places on this Earth that don’t get water at all let alone clean water. It’s a good thing that scientist can come together from all around the world to and talk about such an important issue. Drinkable water is like oil; it is very precious and needs to be managed wisely. Plus why not develop water management systems that can help the environment instead of destroying it. It’s important that the world starts to become more efficient in the way we live because if we continue down the path that we are on know there will be no hope for those that follow us.
