One of the most common inequalities around the world has to be the inequalities between women and men. Some of the disadvantages include women making up 2/3 of the adult illiterate population. This is due to the lack of educational programs around the world for women who live in under developed countiries. Not only are women among the the most illiterate globally but their also among the poorest. According to Newsweek 70% of the poorest people in the world are women.
The biggest disadvantage that women globally are experiencign right now is the lack of receiving quality health care. Due to the skills women lack globally, they end up having sex to help pay for food, clothes, and for some educational resources. As a result women make up the majority of the AIDS population.
Another huge social inequality that women are facing now, is they don't have a say on how many kids they want to have. For instances, in some global societies women are married off at young ages. Therefore, due to their age and their lack of knowlede many women in countries around the world think it is okay to not have protective sex. Matter of fact in " Zamnia only 11% of the women knew they had a choice to have protective sex with husbands". However women in these nations don't stand up to their husbands because they know that if they do it will increase's their chances of being a victim of domestic violence. Due to things such as this there are 80 million unintended pregancies each year. One-fifth of these pregancies were aborted unsafely, also these abortions causesd 13% of the annual child-labor deaths. The United States isn't helping with the prevention of unwanted child births, actually the United States witheld $34 million dollars from the world's largest family planning services. As a result many women across the world lack the resources to prevent malaria and tuberculosis.
This social inequality isn't very shocking to me, women inequality has always exsisted, it can even be dated back to the bibical times. Women have always been displayed as inferior to men. The only solution I see for this reoccuring problem is providing more educational resources to women across the world so that they can be more aware of this new global problem.
