Pirate Attacks

In Nairobi, Kenya pirate attacks seem to be increasing especially in less policed waters. Reported attacks in Somalia rose rapidly to 26 up from eight a year earlier. And some of those hijackings have turned deadly. The political instability in Somalia gave pirates "totally free rein without any sort of deterrence from the law," Mody said. "They've got a free hand right now. This kind of surprises me because when I think of pirates I think of a long time ago with people that look like Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribean. I didn't know that pirates were even still around. I suppose they are- they just don't look like the pirates that we are all used to. They usually look like normal people. I guess it makes sense, people hijack planes and cars, why would we not think they would hijack boats?
