Libya hosts conference on Asian inter-religious conflict
In Tripoli, Lydia, an international peace conference decided to target at resolving the inter-religious conflict in South-Eastern Asia. Organized by the Kadhafi Foundation for Development (FKD), the meeting wants to focus on peace, stability, and peaceful co-existence among Muslims and Buddhists in Asia, particularly in Thailand. Many religious leaders from Thailand, the Philippines, the Buddhism Foundation, the Islamic Social and Economic Development Foundation, and the Islamic Foundation in Thailand are all coming together and being apart of this conference. The issues that will be addressed include many conflicts and tension in Asia, religion and politics, culture, co-existence, and Islamist and Buddhist theories.
It’s important that nations within the Asian area come together and discuss the issues and conflicts of their region—especially conflicts of religion and ethnicity. These countries need to figure a way to find peace between people of their nation, no matter the race, sex, or religion. Conflicts are only going to continue and get worse. Countries are being torn apart by racial and religious issues and it is making it difficult for countries to help each other out. Instead wars are breaking out and the terrorism rate is rising. I think it is needed for these people and organizations to hold a conference and focus on international peace and happiness.
