A new North Carolina law that goes into effect Saturday makes it harder for people to steal a person’s identity, by allowing police officers to take a picture of any driver who doesn’t have a valid license. “What we simply want people to do is tell the truth about who they are when the law enforcement officer asks them the question,” said the bill’s sponsor, State Rep. Dale Folwell. Lawmakers say they hope the new law will keep a person pulled over by an enforcement officer who doesn’t have a valid license from giving the officer a false name."
