During political meetings this past week, Iraq’s secretary general expressed encouragement for the Iraqi government. There was also news about suspected terrorists being arrested. Prime Minister al-Maliki articulated that he wants every aspect of the government to be focused on the diversity of the nation and that one segment of the population would not be the status quo. He also pointed out that he was to, “Boost their international front through cooperation with each other.” He also showed deep support for the continuing labors to achieve stability and security. This is a very strong push to make Iraq independent as a nation. I believe that the prime minister shows great support for his nation as a whole and is not letting one specific stereotype influence his government and their decisions. It is not only in the country’s best interest but it is also in the interest of the people. I feel that with everyone being represented that this will bond the nation together and eventually Iraq will be one hundred percent independent. The arrests of the suspected terrorists show that the security of the nation is steeping off on to the right foot as well. It is a signal to all that oppose unified government that terrorism will not be tolerated. I think that the Prime Minister is very fair in this sense. He is willing to form the government around every type of person, so the need for terrorism is not existent.
