Surrounded by Violence

For many people, our world is a very dangerous place. Intense fighting, artillery strikes, and other deadly military operations are happening on a regular basis in highly populated areas. These areas are occupied by innocent civilians, many of whom are children.

Recently the United States has been accused by Afghan authorities of killing numerous innocent civilians in recent war efforts. These deaths and the acquisitions aimed at the US, have created political tension throughout Afghanistan. During a recent artillery strike initiated by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), three children have died. The artillery round, from this specific attack in the Paktika Province , hit a house sheltering three innocent child civilians. NATO recognizes the devastation, saying "...deeply regrets this accident, and an investigation as to the exact circumstances of this tragic event is now underway".
There are numerous reports of civilian deaths, involving children and adults alike. Many of them are difficult to verify because many observers are too far from the violent territories. The Taliban uses these unfortunate deaths to cause rebellion against the Afghan government.
It is terrible to hear about innocent lives being threatened, and many actually being taken. The children of war stricken areas are always at risk of death, whether at their home, or walking on the street. They are never safe. The US and NATO forces have been called to stop air strikes over civilian areas, and to focus on terrorist retreats. This might reduce the risk for many, however, as long as we are at war, innocent children's lives are in jeopardy.

Its so terrible to think that innocent children are put at risk like this. Apologies do not bring back a childs life. It isn't fair that because of all this war innocent people are being killed for accidental reasons.

It is really sad to hear about innocent lives being taken on any account. It makes it even worse to hear that innocent childrens lives are being taken especially in war acts. But just as the "poster" stated, while the war is still active, many more innocent lives will be taken. It is very sad, but at this point, nothing can be done.

Reading stuff like this seems outrageous to me. I can’t believe that people would put children throught things like this. Children have no control over things like this and the fact that they are having to suffer because of it really pisses me off!!!
