Thai governement opens talk with protestors

In Bangkok Thailand, there will be a pro-government rally held in honor of the anniversary of the coup that ousted Thaksin. In the past, these rallies have been known to cause chaos among the People’s Alliance for democracy, and the People’s Power Party, who are associated with the Thaksin. The current prime minister of Thailand was even forced to resign for his said affiliation with the People’s Power Party. Somchai Wongsawat, who replaced Samk Sundaravej(Last Prime Minister),has recently said that he wishes to promote a positive protest, and that he holds no grudges against any party. The People’s Alliance for democracy believes that Somchai’s ideals are a “positive signal” in the right direction, but believes that the process for creating a better government has just begun. The government’s main objective in this rally is to prevent the situation from getting out of control as it was in past years.
I would have liked to have more information on exactly why these two groups have problems in the first place. It seems to me that all of the problems are ongoing, and have reached a peak in which they have become out of control. In a situation where it is requested that a new prime minister must reside, there is obviously a big problem. I don’t think the best thing for the city to do is try to hold a pro-government rally, in the middle of the situation that they are in. Rivals in the city are more likely to start controversy because the situation is still fresh and in people minds. For this reason, I think the government should hold off on their idea of a rally until things begin to settle down among the disputing parties.

I think it will be interesting to see what the PAD does at that rally... They haven't been too happy with the past governments, and i would like to see how they can find common ground, especially since the PAD does not support the typical democratic system..
