In the United Kingdom (UK) about six million workers are not happy with their jobs. The problem workers have is that there is an increased workload but the pay doesn’t keep up with the cost of living. The complaints about increased workloads are that workers have longer hours and heightened stress levels. Groups of people on the workforce in the UK feel that they have unfair pay structures and the pay does not equal or keep up with the cost of living. About three and a half million workers have been “bullied” at their jobs. Many other workers have complained that their work is not “safe” and that they have been “unfairly disciplined”. Age discrimination and low or no opportunities of promotion are some other problems that workers are having. Also about six million workers jobs include recurring or boring work. Only sixty-six percent of workers actually enjoy their jobs. The way that workers can get employers to hear out their problems is to get unions to tell the government about them. The main problems that workers want unions to tell employers about are pay, safety, and pensions. If the government does not start doing these things, such as offering promotion opportunities, then businesses will not end up being successful. I feel that if the government listens to workers problems and work to improve in those areas then workers would be more satisfied with their jobs. Workers that are happy with their jobs will cause them to be less stressed and will help businesses in the economy to be more successful.

I can only imagine how difficult it most be to live in a country that is sooo expensive. I defintley agree that companys should listen to their employees. It is not only beneficial for growth and improvement but also for a condusive environment so that workers perform to the best of their ability. I think also that England is experiecing a slight economic problem with the market so that could also increase stress levels.
They could though lay off the pubs and maybe their wallet will be a little bit heavier! :)
It's true every where you go now the cost of living is out-ragious. I agree that the workers should be able to form a union but all that would cause is more problems in their living situations. But the companies defently need to treat their employees with better benefits of working there such as better pay and safer situations to work in. But also the employees aren't the only one's getting hurt with the economy but the companies are as well.
