Boeing, strikers returning to table

Contract negotiations were agreed to be continued by the company Boeing and the “Machinists” union. A meeting on Wednesday between the union and Boeing concluded with the knowledge that both wanted to work together in order to stop the strike. Starting on September seventh, a little more than a month ago, Boeing factory workers went on strike. Boeing is a company that manufactures aircrafts. The reason workers started a strike is they feel that their salary is not high enough and they want better allowances. Workers feel that since the company has had a “five-year run of thirteen billion dollars in net profits” they can afford a raise in wages. The strike so far has cost Boeing “more than one billion dollars in profits and left twenty-seven thousand workers without paychecks”. In about three states “aircraft-production” has been stopped because of the strike. The strike has caused a negative affect on the economy. The reason being is that in some states production of aircrafts has stopped which causes production to slow down all over the United States. The company and the union need to come to an agreement in order for production to start back up. Once production gets back on track then the company can pay off the profits lost from this ordeal. By stopping the strikes and creating fair terms then the economy will be regulated again. This could help the economic crisis that America is in now because in order for the economic cycle to continue production and consumption must not decrease.
