The Iraqi parliament has several issues pending debate, but it is a step back that the Iranian embassy in Baghad had to be closed due to several scenarios. The embassy holds great influence in Iraq’s international affairs. It was also closed due to threatening attacks. The Iraq armed forces were warned of this and they will try to prevent any interference. “’Iraqi Archbishop Cardinal Emanuel Dilli called on the Iraqi Presidency Council not to approve the revocation of Article 50 of the Iraqi Provincial Council Election Law, which represents injustice to Christians and other ethnicities in Iraq’” This is a major ethical issue because all of Iraq should have equal representation. The political state of Iraq is still on the fence of greatness or destruction due to the still during security agreement. Iraqi officials are now talking about extending the authorization for US troops to be there for six months up to another year. Personally, I am really interested to see how this will turn out. I think that it is very ironic that a few weeks ago they wanted full control and the US troops to be out as soon as possible, but with the closing of the embassy they see that their forces may not be quite up to par. I believe that this was a true wake up call to the leaders of Iraq and I hope that this will expedite the process of withdrawal of the American troops. I think that the is the time to step up the game and truly make the nation of Iraq as a whole a great self governing nation.
