Thai protest leaders say they will surrender

As the conflict in Thailand continues, between the two rivaling parties: The People’s Alliance for Democracy and People’s Powers party; the government is making a big effort to try and stop the violence that has spread across the city of Bangkok. These two parties, both Anti-government protestors, but on rival sides, have said they will surrender to police after courts agree to drop charges against them. They are currently charged with treason, stockpiling of weapons, and refusing to disperse, public disturbance, and illegal assembly. The parties have agreed to accept these charges, but had also said that they will fight to get these charges removed. Both sides: People’s Alliance and People’s Powers are blaming each other for the extreme violence happening in the city of Bangkok. During this violence, the government has been forced to use methods of protection such as, tear gas, which the parties believe was unnecessary, and used with intentions of hurting, rather than settling the problem. The government has responded by stating that these protestors essentially hurt themselves from explosives they kept themselves.
Once again I believe that the government needs to have a better handle over what is going on in this city. I do, however believe that they are doing all that is in their power to do in order to protect citizens, and stop violence from spreading, even if it does mean that they have to “hurt” a few protestors along the way. These parties should have known that in their efforts to make a statement, they were going to be met by government, and violence was going to be directed at them. I don’t believe that the government was being unjust in their actions; I believe they were simply just trying to solve a problem, and taking the necessary actions to do it.
