Two Christians Forced to Kill Another Christian

Religious Conflicts

More violence against Christians in India is occurring. Two Christians in Chhattisgarh were forced to beat a fellow Christian and in not doing so they would be killed. Chhattisgarh is a Christian community. On October 3rd, Hindu nationalists broke into a house while a prayer meeting was happening. They attacked the housemates while they slept, and ultimately forced two of the members to beat another prayer partner. The Hindu nationalists are from a Hindu extremist group called Dharma Sena or the religious army. Christian leaders went on the morning of the 4th of October to report the crime, but no action has been taken. Police apparently fooled the Christians by telling them that no complain would be filed against them and their prayer team for “forced conversion” is they agreed to not file against the Hindu nationalists. Instead the police reported a case of “forced conversion” against the Christians. If convicted the Christians could be sentenced up to a year in prison and/or a fine of up to 5,000 rupees ($100 US dollars).
This just continues the violence against the Christians in India. I know that India is a historically Hindu nation, but with the massive number of Christians in the country, one would think that the police would try to help them and not hurt them.

Sadly, Policemen in many countries are not concerned with social justice as much as their own viewpoints being forced. Maybe it's just me, but I feel as if religious intolerance, even excluding the Middle East, is increasing with time.

I too have been reading about the growing problem in India. But it seems as if the government is more corrupt with more Hindu influence in power.

This is outragous for me to read. Myself being a christian cannot believe someone actually went through with this. I do agree with you and the other people that have posted because they definitely have excellent views. I just hope the government does not step in when they are supposed to when downing their religous views.
