Avian Influenza (Bird Flu)

We have all heard about the H1N1 virus also known as the Swine Flu spreading, now there has been another virus some what similar to this on going virus and its known as the H5N1 also known as the Avian Influenza and even more simpler terms the Bird Flu. Right now the biggest concern is that it is mostly over seas and the medical treatment for this virus is also difficult to keep under control because it is spread by birds and if North American migratory birds catch this virus it will spread more rapidly just like the Swine Flu. WHO has been tracking this virus and trying to keep it as a pandemic. They have put forth a lot of research and medical help in Egypt, Spain, China, Vietnam, mostly in Asia. There has been vaccines sent out to the areas to hopefully protect them from catching it but there is no guarantee that it can fully protect you from the virus. You can also try to protect yourself by washing your hands often and cleaning your cooking utensils more when cooking eggs or poultry.

There have been more and more cases on this virus in the past year or two and it just doesn’t seem to be getting any better. I don’t see how people are suppose to know how to protect them selves that are just come to being around and you can’t keep way. In most these areas there isn’t enough medical supply or help for theses people to even know about this virus neither the less be treated for it.

This whole flu epidemic is terrifying. From birds too, that's just creepy thinking about it. After reading this article, about the flu and its relation to birds, it all makes sense why its so widespread now too. Hopefully we'll be able to do something about it soon.

The fact that now we have another flu to worry about really bothers me. I know that it will be a while before I will have to worry about catching it unless I go abroad but now I'm gonna have hand sanitizer in every bag I own!

I think people are becoming more and more scared of these flus because there is no way to protect your self against it which terrifies people.
