Britain is referred to as a surveillance society with cameras in every corner. One British family of 5 had their privacy invaded and intruded upon with this so called surveillance. Jenny Paton, a mother of three, was shocked at how she was constantly being watched and followed. The cops that were in charge of her surveillance were following her in a secret-agent-style while keeping a log of all her movements. They obtained her telephone records and bills trying to catch her falsifying her address. When in actuality, she had done nothing wrong. So she wrongfully had her family life and privacy intruded upon without her consent. There is a law that was enacted in 2000 to regulate surveillance powers, so technically it was a legal thing to do. But, regardless, Jenny Paton refused to let the matter fall to a rest. She is currently battling authorities and fighting the laws that have allowed these acts to happen legally.
This is appalling! She did nothing wrong, she's taking care of her children, and the government is tailing her to catch her doing something she never did in the first place. I hope in the end, if she sticks it out, she can help change the laws in Britain governing personal privacy and surveillance. Families can't live in fear of being watched 24 hrs a day 7 days a week, that's just not legally fair.
