The article I read this week was about women trafficking into Australia. The article started by stating facts about the people who were trafficked into Australia are forced into the sex industry and ninety five per cent of trafficking victims were females made to work as prostitutes. Most of these women who are being trafficked into Australia are coming from Southeast Asia. Australia knows these facts and is ready to make a difference. They have researched a lot about women trafficking in their region, but they said they still need to do more research. For now they have arranged for victim support programs. Australia realizes that a lot of the women trafficking is going unreported, so they need to find a way to make reports more accurate. Australia knows that they will be a potential trafficking destination, but they are trying to keep a stronger control on their border and law enforcement.

The last few articles I have read about have been about women trafficking. Women were being tricked into coming to people’s homes looking for jobs that would enable them to finally have a steady income and change their lives for the better. Soon after these women arrive they are imprisoned, beaten, and forced to sell themselves. Some of these women are not found in time and are killed. Other articles I have read about are people who have been interviewed saying how there needs to be a change. Over the past weeks I have seen greater improvements in order protect women. The article I read this week really showed that people were trying to make a difference in women’s lives.
