Researchers, the military, & the public itself have been pondering the idea of women in the military for years. Now, there is thought that women are actually tougher with pain when in the military than men. Yale University conducted a study & came up with some interesting statistics. When it came to reporting pain, it came down to 38.1% women to 44% men. Reporting persistent pain was closer, but still came to 18% women to 22.2% men. Another study found that significant pain brought the men out first, 62.6% to 68% women. Some believe the results are slightly skewed due to gender differences in the military. While in training, a woman is much less likely to show any kind of discomfort with anything due to the fact that she is more likely to get kicked out when compared to man showing any kind of discomfort. Women also automatically receive less combat exposure than men do. Women in the military are becoming more & more prevalent, so researchers have a lot to study when it comes to gender differences between men & women in the military.
This all makes sense, none of it surprised me at all when it comes to women in the military. Of course they won't show pain as much, being women they'll get noticed before a man would, in a negative way. And nobody is comfortable with sending women, the mothers of our children, to the front line to combat directly with our enemies.

Women may be tougher than men, but I agree that no one would want to sent the mother of children to the front line, I also think that more men would rather do it than women.
Interesting. I've always kind of believed that women may have a higher pain tolerance than men. Anyone who can endure child birth is pretty though, in my book. But being that women are usally viewed as more calm and nurturing, it can be kind of hard to picture them on the front line.
