Women mourn the women who are targets
This was an interesting piece on how women in Pakistan are essentially paying the price for something they didn’t commit. Before the war, they had relatively normal lives but now that more and more people that aren’t even near the military are being killed, they are in hiding. One woman in the story couldn’t even go to her friend’s family’s funeral because it was too dangerous. Many women blame the US for the trouble because they say the people the US recently praised are the same people who are causing all the trouble. They went on to say that if 9/11 is the cause of this war, and it was a lapse on American security, why do they have to pay the price?
Really and truly, I get where these women are coming from because all over the world it seems like women are the ones who get the brunt of the badness because they are women. Look at the situation in the Congo and what happens to the wives of soldiers when they get home. I really feel bad because it’s like what happened to us in an act of terrorism is causing a lot of problems all over the world because now the US is in a war and to get out, would be really hard. I think it’s a horrible situation all over because we as women are screwed all around because if there is fighting in Pakistan, then the Pakistani women can’t have normal lives and when the soldiers come home, they might be so messed up that they rape or kill women here.

Yes, I agree. This is sad. Women there shouldn't be dealing with the after effects of something that didn't commit themselves. They should be able to continue with lives on a normal basis. Hopefully for them it will level out eventually.
