blog #8 Nation's struggle for independence from Indonesia

This article was about how the president has a big impact on the nations well being. It talked about how over half of Asia nation is poor. The main problem in Asia was with the poor struggling with malnutrition. The purpose of electing a good president is supposed to help focus more on the poor and help get the malnutrition issues uncontrolled. In the articles it said that “East Timor's 1.2 million people live below $0.88 a day, according to a World Bank report, and malnourishment is a significant public health issue.” It also stated in the article that “East Timor is Asia's poorest nation but it has vast offshore natural gas reserves and is struggling to unlock this wealth”. This lets you know that the president was not focused on the poor and how bad the poor were doing. In the article it stated the government used fun to build the economy but it need to fund more money to include the poor people. I think that electing a president that is going to benefit the wealth and poor is going to be a good choice. This way it will not take so long for someone to attend to the poor side of the Asia nation. I think that the government should look more into problem of people health before they look into adding on to things that are already taken care of. What I mean by this is they shouldn’t focus on fixing what is not broken. I believe that malnutrition is a terrible thing going on with over half of Asia population and should be taken care of immediately, so if electing a president that will make sure this is looked into is all they need to do then they need to do so quickly. I believe that they should use a lot of fundraising worldwide to help. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/16/timor-idUSL4E8EE4KT20120316
