Blog 8: Tracking Down Anonymous

Recently in London, on March 6th 25 year old male Ryan Ackroyd was recently summoned to court. He was being accused of collaboration with three other British citizens of taking down two very confidential government websites. The three males are under the age of 20. The websites that were targeted were the CIA and the Serious Organised Crime Agency. The composition of the case is very detrimental to the government because this case could possibly lead to the acquisition of the super hacker group Anonymous.

Anonymous has a long going history of various break ins and sabotages of government operated websites and well established businesses. Breaking and entering without authorization is a current ethical and social issue in the world of technology, especially through internet relations. If the government could take down this agency, it would be a gigantic step in regulating internet operations and increasing the safety of business operators and confidential information of the global people.

Even if Ryan is not apart of the organization Anonymous, the government should be complemented on making an effort to dig deep and to find out more about the super group. So many individuals are affected by the silly reckless acts of theft of information everyday. As the government learns more about the habits and composition of the group, it will be easier for them to eventually take them down in the near future.
