Since the learning of the SOPA, PIPA and ACTA bills, citizens all around the world have been protesting the censorship of the internet. As the last true form of expression came under attack due to piracy websites. Then a group known as "anonymous" came forth and fought back. To protest the bills the group and its members were able to successfully shut down multiple government websites around the world. In recent events a fully functional web browser named Anonymous, has been downloaded by 26,000 people. It uses a linux operating system with security "sniffing" tools. However; the actual group Anonymous, has said that the browser is filled with many different viruses and warns people to stay away from it. Those responsible for creating the browser has asked people to reframe from destroying websites. The director of Trend Micro's European security research efforts stated that it was in fact a fully functional web browser that comes equipped with many different tools that allow its users to crack passwords and look for "chinks" in database security. Also available is a tool that will mask a persons activities while they are online. Those looking into the newly formed browser is skeptical about who would be willing to use it due to the fact that it could be riddled with viruses and other traps that could lead to information leaks.
With technology rapidly increasing, the need for security also needs to become more intricate. With web browser such as the anonymous one coming forth, any and all information stored online is at risk. The biggest thing new technology needs is a more secure system and with each system update new the security also needs to be updated. The reason that is a big social issue is because with more and more people storing pretty their lives in some type of information "cloud" their identities could be stolen. Web browsers such as this anonymous is not only putting everyone at risk, but it also paves the way for envisage browsers.
