Current Events Presentations:

During the last week of class (May 2 & 5) you will present 3-5 Power Point slides recapping the major current events in your topic area. The class will be involved in scoring your presentation. A selection of test questions on the final exam will be generated from these presentations. This assignment is worth a total of 100 points (10% of final grade).

Criteria:

Presentations should include no more than 5 PowerPoint slides and should last no more than 3 minutes. In your presentation you should:

1. recount which topic area you focused on
2. give examples of major events and issues with this topic area
3. draw some kind of conclusions about the issues or summarize the major events during this past 15 weeks

You presentation will be scored based on the following criteria:

1. your knowledge of content and events (25%)
2. thoroughness of your review (25%)
3. thoughtfulness in drawing conclusions or summarizing the events (25%)
4. quality of visuals (PowerPoint) to explain and expand upon the oral presentation (12.5%)
5. oral presentation skills (12.5%)

ALL PRESENTATIONS SHOULD BE EMAILED TO ME NO LATER MIDNIGHT MAY 1ST - NO EXCEPTIONS

IF I DO NOT RECEIVE YOU POWERPOINT BY MIDNIGHT MAY 1ST YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PRESENT

PRESENTATION ORDER WILL BE RANDOM, YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHO IS NEXT UP. THUS EVERYONE MUST BE PRESENT.

IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT ON THE DAY OF YOUR PRESENTATION YOU WILL NOT BE GRADED FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT.
