An off-duty Norwegian police officer shot and killed his ex-girlfriend on Friday outside the elementary school where she was a student teacher. The police officer had used a pistol that was issued to another officer, but it was rumored that the pistol was stolen from the police station weapons room. Initially, it was believed that both the police officer and his ex-girlfriend had died; however, Police Cheif Truls Fyhn later corrected the information, saying that the officer was in extreme critical condition. The woman had been living with the officer before they had broken up a week prior to the shooting.

This situation is an issue all over the world; Domestic disputes have sparked crime everywhere. One example of a domestic dispute gone bad in the U.S. is O.J. Simpson and the murder of his wife. Shows like Lifetime's Snapped feature real-life domestic disputes that led to murder and consequenses. Situations like this happen all of the time. It is a growing issue in our society today.
Another problem seen around the world pertaining to this situation is the increasing exposure of violence to children. The shooting was done in broad daylight when children were on their way to school. It is not known how many children were at the scene during the shooting, but some were witnesses of the violence.

The shooting in Norway is an example of crime that can be seen all around the world.
