Abdollah Farivar, who lives in Iran, was married and had a child but while he was he had an affair and commited adultry. They decided to give Farivar a death sentenced, and the way he was suppose to be sentenced was by being stoned to death. This is not the first time that men have been sentenced to death my stoning for this exact crime. A women named Shadi Sadr is a lawyer and she is also a member for stoping stoning crime. She said that there is to be fourteen other people who are sentenced to death by stoning. Instead of Farivar being stoned to death like he was sentenced he was instead hung in his cell Thursday, February 19, 2009. Farivar's family was not even notified of the change until the day before he was hung. Sadr says that they were worried before when they were stoning the prisoners but now their concerns and worries have grown deeper.

I have to say that I do not believe at all with stoning victims, nor do I believe in hanging them. I mean people should be sentenced what ever penatly due to their crimes. But here in America, so many men and women make the mistake of commiting an affair, and adultry. I understand the fact that it is a different country but, here in America you will not see someone sentenced to death for that crime, it's just not likely. I feel horrible for the family of Farivar, they should have been given some sort of notice so they could say goodbye, not just the day before it was going to happen.

  1. Yeah I agree as well. I think stoning and hanging is a little above the extreme. But I do think that it's absolutely wrong to commit adultery because of my religion. I think the couple if willing, can figure this out on their own. If not, like the US and other countries, a divorce can be file, and everyone can move on with their lives. But certainly killing is not an option.
