In the month of January there have been 603 people killed by infectious disease in China. Which is 600 less than the month of December. AIDS, tuberculosis, rabies, hepatitis B and hepatitis C were the top five infectious diseases that killed almost 90% of the 603 people.

Also in the month of January there were more than 240,000 cases of class A and B infectious diseases that occurred and claimed 593 lives.

Plague and cholera are categorized as Class A infectious diseases, which were considered more critical. Class B infectious diseases include many different diseases, which includes hepatitis B, hepatitis C, rabies and many others.

There were 5.26 million cases of infectious diseases reported for the year of 2008. 12,622 of those deaths were considered fatal.

These numbers absolutely amaze me. Can you imagine more than 600 people dying within one month. I do understand that China is very large and makes up a lot of different components but still that is a lot of people dying within a short period of time. What also stands out to me is that they are showing no concern for all these deaths. Although it is probably a possibility that the government is happy that their population in decreasing.

I mean 5.26 MILLION people ended up with somewhat serious infectious diseases. Of those 5.26 million people, 12,622 of those ended in death. I’m seriously speechless of how large these numbers are and that there is nothing being done to try and prevent what is happening.
