Jolanta Death Was "Perfect Crime"

Almost a year after victim Jolanta Bledaite’s head was found on an Arbroath beach, her murderers are being put on trial for what they thought was the perfect crime. Two men from Lithuania are suspected for the murder. Aleksandras Skirda has already admitted to the murder, while Vitas Plytnykas denies having any involvement. Bledaite shared her flat with Skirda. The story goes that Skirda and Plytnykas tied up and gagged Bledaite in order to get her pin number. At first she gave the wrong number, then changed her mind thinking she could get out of it alive. Unfortunately, she was wrong. After she suffocated and died, the two men carried her body to the bathroom and proceeded to hack up her entire body and the ocean, never to be seen again.
I will say that this was an almost perfect murder. Had the head not washed ashore, those men would have never been caught. But these men deserved to be caught. They murdered for greed. They murdered an innocent, hard-working woman who happed to be roommates with one of the men. I am glad that Skirda confessed to his horrific actions. He is accepting responsibility for his actions. As for Plytnkas, he claims to have an alibi for the morning Jolanta Bledaite died in her apartment despite the fact that there were his “fingerprints on bags containing Ms Bledaite's belongings and CCTV footage of Mr Plytnykas on a bus with Skirda carrying the head and hands in a Lidl bag.” So what do you think? Did Skirda act alone, or did Plytnkas have a hand in the operation?

  1. I don't think there is a question of whether Mr. Plytnykas helped or not. If there is video footage showing he had a hand in the murder. Someone may think they have committed the “perfect crime” but just because you don’t get caught right away doesn’t make it perfect. Eventually you will get caught for a crime you commit.

  2. It puts me in shock sometimes what people are capable of doing to other human beings. I mean they really cut this woman to pieces. Can you imagine doing that to someone? Taking the time to do that? It is no easy task to cut through the skin and muscle.. I mean that is just crazy. It also scares me that people will do that.
