Blog 7: Killings Overseas

A soldier in Afghan was accused of killing sixteen civilians.  Sources say that he was under the influence of alcohol and stress from his marriage.  He is on his way home back to United States, and will be going to military court for murders he is being accused of.  His attorney said that these rumors of alcohol and marriage stress could be false but hasn’t talked to his client in great details about the case since he has been overseas and out of the country.  The case is still very open and no facts have been proven yet so anything can really happen.  There could be possibilities of discrimination in the case and these rumors are just covering up what really happened.  If these actions were because of discrimination that would be very sad and look terrible on the United States considering where we have come from.  The attorney also said this case could turn up being political than a legal case.

If this were a case of discriminations, this could really hurt The United States image.  It could really make us look bad, when we have come so far from discrimination.  War crimes and discrimination is what the United States tries to prevent and help other countries out with.  World is full of discrimination and cases like this one if facts of discrimination do turn up, is what makes nations and certain ethnicity to look bad.  World hears about these case and people make judgments and far too many times do people just think “maybe he just lost it or snapped.”  The way the case looks and of the circumstances looks like it could have been a killing of discrimination.
