Blog 6 US Indicits 11 in alleged technology theft for Russia

In Houston Texas eleven alleged members of a group called clandestine have been charged with a conspiracy to steal American technology. All of them were charge by a grand jury on Wednesday of conspiracy to steal American technology to Russia. One of the main leaders Alexander appeared in court was read all the charges he faces. Alexander owns a US and Russia Company and he was using the Russia company to steal plans of what the united states was doing. Even though alexander became a US citizen is 1994 he still charge. They are charging him as a unregistered agent on behalf of the Russian government to oversee shipments to Russia of radar and surveillance systems. Since Russia doesn’t have the ability to make this technology right now what these people were doing was using the advantage of America free markets to steal American technology so it could benefit the Russian government. In the indictment it states that Alexander was running a fake technology company and Houston where he was having shipments being sending out to Russia.  The other men that were involved were following along with alexander where they were exchanging e-mails and secrets about this technology. Alexander was also using a woman named Klebanova who was trying to help alexander and others on how to evade us export laws. Some of the men tried to flee the country but they were arrested before they could get back to Russia. Penalty for their action can be up to 20 years in jail.
Selling secrets to the Russian government is by far a global issue. Russian were trying to gain access to us technology and send those secret back to Russia. Alexander was even trying to evade the US export laws that are in place. This was a huge security risk especially if they were successful which they weren’t and they were caught. Now all these men are going to spend the rest of their life in jail because of their actions.
