Blog 8 Nissan Tap Technology

Nissan is tapping into technology that wants to eliminate all car crashes. Nissan wants to build a car that can never have an accident ever.  Since Nissan is one of the safest car on the market they can easily do this and want to roll this out in about 5 years. Their goal is they want to make a steering wheel that doesn’t move or shake even on bumpy roads. A car that will swerve on its own to avoid hitting pedestrian that jumps out in front of the car. Nissan also want to roll out steering wheels that controls tires angles by transmitting inputs by the electric signal instead of in the past they would control it mechinally. They believe this will help keep the wheel stable and they won’t be a lot of jerking in the car. Last thing Nissan want to introduce is there new collision avoidance system. They will establish this technology by having five laser scanners around the vehicles. Two on your left and two on your right and also have mounted radar and camera. This system would use the brake system to set this up. So for an instance you were driving fast and looked like you might be headed for a crash the car would first slow it down then change and make sure you land in a safe area so you don’t get into a collision. These are the ideas that Nissan want to roll out in the next 5 years.
This is kind of a global issue because I does involves car that a lot of people drive around the world. Especially in japan, where they make these cars. This could be great since car crashes are so high and bring this new technology might be able to help lower the rate of crashes and have safer cars on the road. With this new technology there might be other car manufactures that might be doing what Nissan is doing.
