Divorce and Separation affect one in three

More than 20 million people in the UK are affected by divorce and separation, either through their own relationships or that of their parents. There are approximately 150,000 to 200,000 relationship breakdowns involving children each year. Through the survey conducted over 90% of those questioned believe that a lone parent will likely be a female and young. The help and support in the UK for people going through a divorce or separation is not enough. Three-quarters of people getting help said it was not enough support, they need more help. They are trying to start programs that will help children cope with their parents divorce or separation. Support is what the families need to try and work things out and hopefully the support will help enough for a divorce or separation not to take place. Emotional support is a very important thing for separating parents and their children. With the support families will be able to come to terms with the end to the relationship and they will be able to focus on their new responsibilities as co-parents.

I think divorce is a terrible thing for anyone to go through. To bring your kids into the divorce is even worse. Families get torn apart because kids have to go through what they can’t help. This isn’t a problem just in the UK; divorce is popular here in the US. There are so many single parents out there working two jobs just to put food on the table for their 3 kids. Divorce is horrible for anyone that has to go through it or knows anyone that is going through it.
