Haze of confusion over most-polluted city list

China has recently been under the gun on the issue of lead production. This has resulted in many developing issues that need attention. China’s city of Tainjin is supposedly the worst place for pollutants due to lead production. That is supposedly, there seemed to be confusion as to which city Tainjin or Tianying was actually processing lead. The city of Tainjin is a large base for the production of lead, however Tianying contributes to a lot of the lead processing. Lead causes serious health problems and is responsible for taking more than 460,000 lives annually. The lead that is processed usually comes from old batteries which are not only harmful to humans but the environment as well. China has established clear goals to cut harmful pollutants by 10% in the next five years.
China is a leading international exporter and yet, their low industrial standards affect the rest of the world. The recent report of dangerous Chinese products, such as children’s toys and toothpaste in the United States, is evidence the problem is spreading. China has got their work cut out for them, as the rest of the world is aware that lead poisoning is a real and potential threat. The world relies on China for many goods and establishing healthy standards is crucial for that to continue. Health standards of lead production bases need to be determined and improved for workers as well. This is a serious problem, and having the label as one of the worst places for air pollution is a detriment to their overall economy.
