An Increase in Tuition for China

Education is something that is going to cost anyone if they want to attend. Many of the countries around the world, such as China, have increased the price of tuition to keep up the school's mainteience, resources, research, and even an instructor's salary. According to The China Post, in 2007 tuition will increase 2.3-10 percent!!! Due to the high demand of students entering school, high demand for new teachers, and updated information that is needed for competitive jobs, the costs of students have to increase. Some students who are in college when the price of tuition increase, have to drop out because they are not able to afford the unreasonable prices. Peopledaily.com states that some schools are charging students 4,000 to 6,000 yuan within the upcoming semester, that is about 2,000 to 3,000 more yuan compared to last year. While the government is still providing some help to students and universities, they are encouraging schools to increase the price of tuition so that they can take care of their own expenses. Which means that the government will not help students or school finicially.

This is an article that I can relate to. When I graduated from highschool in 2004, the rpice to attend UNC-G was not that bad, but we still were not able to afford it. I attended a local community college, and a year later we saw the increase of tuition in our wallets. Even if the increase is a dollar or two, the final price represents that increase and so does our economy. I think that the government should provide some type of money to everyone despite of the increase of tuition and how much income the family has. The government are the ones who makes the changes in the education system, and they should be the ones who make up for the difference.
