Self-driving Cars

The students of Oxford University have challenge the Google car with their design of a self-driving car. This car is able to driven in different weather conditions such as rain and snow. 3D Lasers make this operation successful because it is surrounding the area. This helps the car to know when to stop. This system is more efficient compared to the Google car that uses GPS navigation system because there is a chance that the signal could be blocked. The system that the students design is computer operated with sensors that help the car know what’s going on around it. If a driver is driving the car and the system feel like it knows the route then it will take over, but if it doesn’t it won’t. This system has been tested in a Nissan Leaf electric car on private roads. They saw that this car can be driven on the road now as long as there is a driver.
This new advancement of self-driving car is interesting. These self-driving cars keep evolving around the world. This advancement in technology could possible reduce the amount of car accidents that happen around the world and save thousands of peoples of lives. This system seems that it will work efficiently with the most accurate driving. Compared to Google I think that this system will be better because with GPS navigation system it is not updating as fast and things are changing consistently. This system is able to keep updating by getting information about routes to lead you to your designation. This system could be the next big thing in vehicles.
