The war over the Gaza Strip land, which is on the west coast of Israel, is a constant battle between the Israelis and the Hamas that currently control the land. The country of Israel, with the help of its army, the Israeli Defense Force is constantly trying to gain this part of their country back. On August 14 in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces killed six Palestinians during a raid. Two Hamas militants and bystander where killed by the raid in the southern villages of Qarara and Abassan. Also in this area, a gunman and his mother were also part of six that were killed. The Hamas did fire rifles and grenades back at the Israeli army in their defense.
At least 16 other Palestinians were also injured when the fighting continued where the Israeli troops were backed by military aircrafts. The Islamic Jihad had a member killed and more were injured during this raid on the Gaza strip as well. A spokesperson from the Israeli army stated that raid was aimed at trying to find a militant tunnel to prevent rocket fire across the borders. To conclude the article, the Izz Al Deen Al Qasam Brigades said that they will “continue to fight against Israel ‘until either victory or martyrdom.’”
This article really caught my interest because it discusses something that has become part of my life. I have had a few friends fight in the War on Israel for the past four years. My two of my friends have been out of the army for a couple months now, and one will be ending her term at the end of August. I believe that Israel should continue to fight over the land that was once theirs and not give up.http://http://archive.gulfnews.com/articles/07/08/15/10146736.html
