This article is about how it's the start of the Chinese school year and thousands of poor students have made it through high school and into universities. Parents in China sacrifice alot to send their children to college. Some parents kill themselves, some sleep outside of their childrens dorms on the grass so they can send them to school to give them a chance at getting ahead and out of poverty. China has come along way in reducing their poverty numbers. Most people in China have food to eat . They have overcome the maqny generations of famines that have been such a problem for China. They still have a long way to go.The World Bank says that China has reduced poverty from 60% to 10% in 25 years. They have come a long way but they need to gp even further. The gap between the poor and the rich widens daily. The Asian book of inequalities says that China has risen to a 47.3 in 2004 and this is the highest in Asia. The numbers are also thought to be higher than reported so readings are believed to be slightly inacurate. For the children whose parents risked alot it's a good thing and they are trying to help others who are in the situations they have risen out 0f.
