Cholera is still spreading across Irap with more than 30,000 people suffering with acute watery diarrhea. The World Health Organization said that 3,300 of the cases have tested positive for the bacterium that cause the sometimes fatal disease. Only fourteen deaths have been reported from the disease that began in August. This low number shows that of the people with the infection, many of them found adequate treatment. Preventative measures have been inforced to reduce the risk of transmission of the infection. The quality of the water is still poor which is a mian factor of the spread of Cholera. The World Health Organization is procuring 5,000,000 water-treatment tablets.
This out break is a growing problem that is affecting many residents in Iraq. It is a terrible situation to be in and the Government is doing the best they can to reduce the risk of spreading the infection. Here in America we do not have to worry about as much about contracting these infection because our water is treated and the bacterium are removed.
