Candis Little/Kenya's Middle Class Feeling Sting of Violence/02/17/2008/11:32am/ethnic conflict

After weeks and weeks of observing these tragic events that is happening over in Kenya, it is sad to say that things are not getting any better. This time around it is the middle class society of Nairobi, Kenya that is feeling the heat. In the article they give the scenario of a decent working man’s life that has to deal with the deadly violence that is going on day to day. George G. Mbugua is a 42-year-old man that is a executive of a chief financial officer of a growing company. He has everything that he needs in life such as cars and clothes but it means nothing when something happens and the job and the finer things in life all can be thrown out the window and it would not even matter. But what effects him the most is that when he has to explain to his daughters what is going on and you have to tell them the truth because they can hear it from anywhere. He has to explain “why people from different ethnic groups are hacking one another to death. Around Things are just not the same because everything around him is changing day by day. For example, Mbugua’s neighbors has recently moved from their beautiful home because of the violence that has emerged in Kenya. The violence that is occurring is election-related but also it is a fight between two ethnic cultures the Luos vs. Kikuyus. I hope that the Mbugua family will be safe and I hope that things clear up and get better in the future.
