EC - Center for Legislative Studies Spring 2008 Lecture Series

Center for Legislative Studies Spring 2008 Lecture Series. The theme this year is "Governance, Democracy, and Development." Upcoming lectures include:

* "Why Don't the Poor in Poor Countries Vote for Economic Development," presented by Dr. Phillip Keefer, a Lead Research Economist in the Development Research Group of the World Bank on Wednesday, February 27
* "How the Bond Markets Keep Governments Honest, or Not," presented by Dr. James Mahon, Woodrow Wilson Professor of Political Science and Chair of Political Economy at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts on Wednesday March 26
* "Does Democracy Matter for Development? A Historical Perspective," presented by Dr. John Gerring of Boston University on Wednesday, April 16
