In Havana the president, Raul Castro, has decided to allow the selling of dvd, video players, and computers in Cuba. This is a sign that Castro is trying to work towards improving the quality of daily life of the people in Cuba.
There were rumors when Raul took over for his brother Fidel that there would be many economic changes that would be issued in the beginning of his presidency and this is just one of many to come.
This was not a very lengthy article about what is going on with technology in Cuba but I do agree that this is a very good and great step in allowing the people of Cuba to begin to make contact and have knowledge about other countries through the computer and the DVD's and things that connect people to other nations. I think that any kind of progress for Cuba is good but I am also wondering whether or not this is a good thing for people because I wonder who will be able to afford this product. I mean yes they are making it available but making is available to whom would be my question.

I also agree. This is a good step in the right direction. Maybe Raul will allow the Cubans to have many more technological advances, so maybe it want be as impoverished.
