From the Mountains of Laos to Higher Education in North Carolina North Carolina has become the fourth largest state for these families who were forced to leave Laos as refugees after the
Vietnam War. Now, the second generation is looking toward higher education, and UNCG has become a school of choice. Come and learn about their history, their cultural traditions, and their experiences as the first generation to go to college.
