Suicide Bombers kill 5 in Pakistan

Nakita Knight/ 3-4-08 @ 4:45 pm/global crime

Today, twin suicide bombers killed 5 people, left 16 wounded, one in critcal condition, and 19 injured. This took place at a naval college in Islamabad, Pakistan. The original intentions of the bombers were to get into the Pakistan Navy War college in the eastern city of Lahore. Fortunately, security was able to prevent that. Instead, they set the explosion nearby. When the bombers onset the explosion, it caused a chain reaction of other explosions due to nearby cars fueled by natural gas, gas cylinders, and storage sheds. This horrible event just so happened to have taken place on the same day that U.S. military officer, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman adm. Michael Mullen, met with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to talk about the security situations going on in th country. Four other deadly attacks and bombing have occured over the past four days leading up to this one.

I mean, what exactly is the problem? I just don't understand how a country can deal with so much turmoil. What is it that has these middle-eastern countries so enraged and angry? I remeber when I was a kid, when you would have to leave your friends (time for dinner, had to go somewhere with parents, etc.), it was cool for you to throw up a peace sign and say "peace in the middle-east". At the time, I didn't know what that meant, or where it came from. So it's interesting now to learn and know where it came from. And it's sad that the origin of the phrase still exist today. Will there every be peace in the middle-east? Or is this just a lifestyle for them?

I don't understand why people feel the need to commit suicide and murder people at the same time. This is very disturbing to me. Hopefully soon there will be peace in the middleeast.

I agree but what disturbs me more is students at different colleges all over the world are dieing. If the economy requires us to better our education by going to college, I feel that they should try and protect our lives just a little more.
