All over the world we see women as the victims of gender issues; however, in Latin America and the Caribbean they see men as victims too. In a recent article published, it is stated that over the years many efforts have been made to include women in all areas and fully incorporate them into society so that all is equal. They also feel that men should be included in the talks on gender equality because they too are victims of gender inequality. They are victimized by their own gender and the rigid social construction of their culture. Over time they are hoping that all will be equal and machismo will no longer be the norm.
I think it is very interesting to see that a culture realizes that men can be victimized too. I think this is very important, though I feel that women have farther to go to reach equality, in come cultures men are victimized just as much, especially in a culture with a rigid social hierarchy. Overall, I think this article brings up an important issue and I'm glad to see it getting some attention.

I agree men can also be victims. I just feel that they aren't as victimized as women.
i agree with your article and also the other comment. men can be victims too but women have a long way to go before being considered equal
I find it strange that a culture where machismo is so prevalent is recognizing victimization of men.
I think males having gender issues is true, anyone that falls in a grouping of gender can have one, the difference between male and female gender issues is how the society is constructed and which gender, if any, is viewed as the prime controller and standard. Because this is the case, female issues are much more widespread.
