Pakistan Condemns U.S Led Attack by Nciole Griffin

“Zoom, Zoom,” was the sound that put the people in Pakistan in fear on Thursday. The huge CH-47 flew across the Pakistan border. The U.S. transport helicopter charged their way into the region, then later gunning down suspected men of enforcing terrorism. Pakistan army officials reported the death of fifteen people; which included women and children. Foreign Prime Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi frowned upon the attack, saying “no important terrorist or high value target was killed!” Qureshi’s anger was fueled by what some say was an “unprovoked” attack, and there was no need to invade Pakistan killing innocent bystanders. The origin of this attack came from the United States policy against terrorism, particularly Islamic terrorist groups. Though reports from Pakistani government officials declare that there were no Islamic terrorist leaders captured; it is still unclear whether or not US. Military officials have captured any one. Some believe the boarder of Pakistan is the hiding place of the infamous Osama Bin Laden, which may explain the occurrence of the event. Though the attack upset most Pakistani officials the future President and widower of former Benazir Bhutto stated, we stand with the United States, Britain, Spain and others who have been attacked.” He believes this terrorist war is a battle for Pakistan’s soul. The fact remains the lost lives of innocent bystanders is a hard tragedy to accept. Children losing their lives over a raid that may have been a mistake is unthinkably unfair, not only did parents lose their children but children lost their parents. I completely agree with the policy of war against terrorism, but I disagree when militants threaten the lives of others. Just to capture what soldiers and intelligence may believe are terrorist, the idea that the soldiers never confirmed if they captured any leaders concerns me. I believe there always needs to be a plan in place to avoid possible tragedies such as the lives lost by the innocent.

Plans are in place to make sure all available options are exhausted before military action is available. We are not a rogue government blowing up things left and right just because we can, if that was the case we would have a lot more liberals, and probably conservatives, standing up and protesting.

Sometimes peace and negotiation does not work, and when that occurs you have to do what does work, and if that is or is not force, if it works it works. War is disgusting, yes, but it is necessary and it does provide results. Casualties are unavoidable, even innocent, but the ends usually justify the means.
