Terrorism Hits Pakistani Marriott Hotel by: Nicole Griffin

Unfortunately terrorism has continued in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, with the bombing of the Marriott Hotel Saturday evening. A video that has surfaced from the scene seems like a real life horror film. In fact a hotel employee stated, “I don’t understand what it was but it was like the world is finished,” commenting on his experience as the bomb went off. The hotel manager told reporters that the bomb went off while his team, along with investigative dogs, was in the process of checking an unknown vehicle, while a few moments later an explosive went off. Reports have been made that the explosives in the vehicle was more than a ton in weight. The hotel was engulfed with violent flames as people tried to escape, about three-thirds of the hotel was on fire destroying the buildings frontal foyer. This massive fire killed at least forty people and left about a hundred of foreign citizens wounded, such as the Britain, Germany and Morocco. The attack seems to have extended from the inauguration of President Asif Ali Zardari, who is the widow of former Benazir Bhutto. Zardari announced two weeks ago that he stands with the United States and Great Britain against the war on terrorism. Zardari was certainly clear about his stance, but what message is his stance sending to Islamic extremist?
Once again radical Islamist has attacked again leaving many left to question the end to their madness. I have read that an official from the Peoples Party in Pakistan has called upon the International community to help the Pakistani government take on these extreme militants. I agree with all countries who plan to war against terrorism to come together with a plan in mind, to STOP SUCH VIOLENCE around the world and make the message be known to Islamic extremist that we will not back down!
