The EU has voted to block the use of the full body scanners, to be researched more to ensure health and privacy conditions. These full body scanners are able to allow the security personnel to see through a persons clothing, revealing any materials that are considered dangerous. The European Union parliament voted 361 to 16 with 18 abstentions, to further study the implications of this new technology. This technology has been introduced in several U.S. airports and other airports in Britain, the Netherlands and other EU nations. Philip Bradbourn, a EU member said that many people will find this new technology very intrusive.
However much this technology may seem intrusive, this technology may enable security to be more effective. Although some people may not trust it, eventually they will have to, due to the fact that lives can be saved by just taking the timer out of yours to do so. This technology is also being used with border patrol, enabling population to be kept in control. Although population control is a big thing, this technology can also stop drugs, weapons, and other hazardous materials from entering various nations.
