Medvedev appoints ambassadors to South Ossetia, Abkhazia

Because this small war began and ended so sudden, there has been little information given. South Ossetia was given independence in late august, after the war, and has recently been appointed an Amassador. This is very strange considering the war with Georgia and attack of Ossetia was to regain those territories.

Because such little information has been specified recently, it’s hard to write a report on such little information. Thus a new topic might suffice for today.

Woman arrested for killing virtual husband in Maple Story

Maple Story, a virtual reality game, allows players to create themselves as an avatar which can engage in relationships, social activities, and join the adventures of the game dealing with obstacles and mythical creatures. Virtual reality games become many people’s reality, causing them to spend more time and money all in their game. A 43-year-old woman from Kyushu province in southern Japan has been convicted of killing her virtual husband who lives in Sapporo, 620 miles away. She was arrested on charges of suspicion of illegal access on a computer and manipulating electronic data. She admitted to hacking into her partner’s account and destroying the character he had worked a year to create because he unexpectedly divorced her. And though she did admit to this crime she denied ever contemplating killing the man in real life. She is facing a maximum of five years in jail if she is found guilty of killing her digital partner.
