Canada’s Green Business Plan

Quebec Energy Minister Claude Béchard knows that Obama has big plans when it comes to alternate energy and they want to be ready to become America’s go to source. The order was already given to Hydro-Quebec to speed up their plans of construction of several Hydro power dams.
"If, in the past, Alberta was a leader for energy in North America for the United States, in the future, with this new administration, we want to be number 1 with green energy." said Béchard. He is very excited about Americans recent interest in alternate energy because he sees it as a great business opportunity as well as a chance to help the world.
I think this is an excellent idea, our country, as well as the rest of the world is paying close attention to the depletion of natural resources such as oil, and have the intentions of finding other resources that can be used as energy. Obama, certainly has great ideas and is willing to invest government capital in the transition from oil to other resources, and Canada has taken the initiative to help him and work hand and hand with Obama and the United States. I actually believe that more countries should learn from the Canadian example, and start to invest money in such projects, such as the building of damns because in the near future every nation is going to be in search of alternate resources. And if they can provide this service it will surely help them boost their economy and at the same time they will contribute to save the planet.

It's exciting to see the rest of the world making moves to green energy. Hopefully a domino effect will take place and other countries will follow Canada. It would be really nice to see China move towards greener energy. Right now coal-fired power plants are popping up all over China. If even a few of those could be replaced by green energy, it could really start a trend towards lowering emissions and distancing ourselves from fossil fuels.

This is one of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite authors:

"Evolution can go to hell as far as I am concerned. What a mistake we are. We have mortally wounded this sweet life-supporting planet -- the only one in the whole Milky Way -- with a century of transportation whoopee. Our government is conducting a war against drugs, is it? Let them go after petroleum. Talk about a destructive high! You put some of this stuff in your car and you can go a hundred miles an hour, run over the neighbor's dog, and tear the atmosphere to smithereens. Hey, as long as we are stuck with being homo sapiens, why mess around? Let's wreck the whole joint. Anybody got an atomic bomb? Who doesn't have an atomic bomb nowadays?"
