Police search homes of Va. Tech victim, suspect

In Blacksburg, Virginia on Virginia Tech’s campus a student was murdered. Officials are still not sure what happened and what the cause of murdering the student was. Haiyang Zhu is the man that killed Xin Yang in a coffee shop on campus. Witnesses say that the two were sitting at a table drinking coffee (not arguing) and suddenly Zhu took a kitchen knife and beheaded Yang. Authorities said when they arrived at the scene Zhu was holding Yang’s head in his hands. Authorities are now trying to find out why he did this to someone that considered him a friend. Yang had just started graduate school at Virginia Tech at the beginning of the semester and had Zhu on her emergency contact sheet, so the two had to have been friends. Haiyang Zhu was seen on a Chinese-language blog talking about his frustration over his stock losses. He commented saying “Recently I've been so frustrated I think only of killing someone or committing suicide.” Authorities are still investigating this homicide.

When I first read this article, I was shocked to hear about this. Now a day you don’t hear of somebody getting beheaded in a public place. I can remember hearing about that in history class, but not now. Virginia Tech is still healing from a few years ago when 32 of their classmates were killed by another student. This act of violence is unacceptable and this student should be put away for the rest of his life. I have never understood why people do the things they do. If he were this stressed out then he needed to seek help. Going to jail for the rest of his life is not going to help him any. Obviously there is something not right with him and he needs to seek help from a doctor. It is too late for that, but I just wish people would seek out friends or family to talk about there problems before they turn to violence to let their frustration and anger out. I hope they find out the reason for this crime, because it seems as though the two were friends.
