“Baghdad police attacks kills 28"
A suicide bomber killed 28 people and injured 57 outside of a police academy in Iraq. The bombing happened in a crowd of people when the bomber detonated a belt of explosives when he crashed his motorcycle in the line of people waiting by the academy. Most of the dead were police recruits and the others were active officers and civilians. Police recruitment centers tend to have become a trend for insurgents to hit. In December 2008, 15 police were killed in another suicide bombing. Despite these recent bombings violence in Iraq has decreased since 2007, but it is still apart of daily life for Iraqis. To prevent such occurrences in these buildings concrete walls have been built and more check points have been put by these locations. In light of recent events, the troop withdrawal is still planned to go forward. Iraq has been able to spread their own police and military force through out to ensure local security which can further help the process of withdrawal of our troops.
I believe that our troops along with the Iraqi police and military force should begin to search homes to help prevent the suicide bombings. They need to find the source of where these bombers are getting their equipment that is killing innocent people. Also, the Iraqi police and military need to be fully equipped and educated on how to handle these type of situations. For this very reason between 35,000 and 50,000 American troops will stay in Iraq an extra year to help further support and train the Iraqi forces.

It really is amazing how bad areas still are. There never should have been 28 killed from police that are there to help protect the people. People really do need to be trained and if some of our troops stay over there an extra year hopefully that will help and the violence well be cut down.
