Israeli aircraft strike Gaza as rockets fall
A nighttime airstrike by Israel targeted a Gaza City warehouse on Saturday March 7th, 2009. The aerial assault was reported by Hamas security officials. The officials say the warehouse was empty and no one was injured. The airstrike has been claimed and confirmed by the Israeli military. They state the target was used by militants as a weapons warehouse. Also, during the attack Israeli aircraft struck two smuggling tunnels under the Egypt and Gaza border. Daily rocket fire by Gaza militants still continues even after the Israel military offense that stopped on January 18. This is causing retaliatory strikes from Israel to continue as well. Sporadic violence persists as Egypt led talks on a long-term truce have failed to produce any results. An example of this instability is that Palestinian militants launched a rocket and a mortar shell into Israel on Sunday, luckily causing no
injuries.
The random rocket strikes by Gaza militants are pointless to me. I don’t understand nor see what they are trying to accomplish. The rocket strikes are not aimed on identified targets. They point the rockets into the air towards Israel and hit the launch button. If you ask me I think they should attach a sign on the rocket stating “I’m stupid” because that might make more of a difference than want they have over the years and years of random rocket strikes. Luckily a lot of times no one is even injured in these rocket strikes from Gaza City. This is good but then again it is another failure from the Gaza Militants. Gaza City is nothing compared to the size and military superiority of Israel. History has shown that you do not pick on the big guys of the world and that nothing good can come from it. Evidently they do not understand. I think Israel has every right to take a full military offensive out on Gaza City to rid it of these people with the wrong mindset.
